How the Online Spirit Level Works

The online spirit level uses your device's built-in tilt sensors to measure surface inclination. Place your phone flat on the surface to check — the bullseye bubble shows whether it is level, and the numeric pitch and roll values display the exact deviation in degrees.

For vertical alignment checks, rest the phone on its side edge against a wall. The tubular vial then indicates whether the surface is plumb. On desktop, a simulation mode lets you preview the tool with your mouse cursor.

How to Read the Spirit Level

When the bubble is centered in the target, the surface is level. As the bubble moves away from center, the surface is tilted in that direction. The pitch and roll values below the display show the exact angle of deviation in degrees.
